The RSIF Implementation Unit (RIU)
The RSIF is implemented by the Association of African Universities (AAU), overseen by the PASET Executive Committee.

It has an established presence in five sub-regions of Africa. AAU has a unique capacity to convene higher education institutional leaders and policy-makers from all parts of the continent and on key issues related to African higher education and development. It also provides leadership to the first phase of the World Bank’s African Centers of Excellence (ACE I) project, which operates 24 centers of excellence in science and technology fields in Central and West Africa.
The RSIF Implementation Unit (RIU) works in coordination with the PASET secretariat to implement the RSIF scholarship program. It also works closely with the Institute of International Education (IIE), an internationally recognized scholarship implementation firm that provides AAU initial technical assistance in its implementation of the RSIF.
AAU’s Secretary General serves as the RIU’s Executive Director. In addition, the RIU comprises of a Project Administrator, a Web Specialist, a Finance Manager and a Project Assistant. The Project Administrator acts as the primary liaison for the RIU, engaging closely with key stakeholders including government officials, students and universities within the region and globally. He/she also develops procedures to update and coordinate the scholarship’s online presence in collaboration with the rest of the team.
